Welcome to the Official Launch of jamespurl.org!

At one time I had jamespurl.com, jamespurl.net and jamespurl.org. I got them free for the first year as part of some promotion from register.com in 2000. I kept them for awhile, doing nothing but a basic HTML page and jamespurl.com email. A guy domain bid for jamespurl.com, and when times were tight I let the others go (thinking I could cash it in if need be). I off and on checked to see if jamespurl.org was available.

On November 11, I was able to get it back (not really interested in .net as I am no longer an ISP like I was in 2000). I've decided to actually place some different content than the blog I'm running on purlblog. I've got some longer form writings such as stories and HOWTO's that I'd like to place on a different site. It will also contain audio recordings. My various musings.

Coming soon will be Messages From The Ill-Tip, a recording made in 1988. I hope to have that up later today.

Update: Messages From The Ill-Tip will be posted in the next couple days. I have been unsuccessful in finding a drupal solution to properly embed and obfuscate vorbis-encoded files. Since I know that google is my friend, I went ahead and did some digging. And while I'll admit that there are ways, there were none that really did what I want. Then, I stumbled across jinzora at http://en.jinzora.com/. I am running it locally for now, but if I determine it will do what I want, I will add a link to that site from here. So far, in limited tests, it is very impressive. It appears that this site will just be for all media but audio.
